Melissa Ethridge says she will not pay taxes in California until Gay Marriage is legal. Hmm… let’s see… High profile liberal… doesn’t want to pay taxes… sounds like someone wants to be on the Obama cabinet.(At this point the crowd goes not quite silent. A few groans can be heard. An “ooh” or too. Bill speaks again.)
Now, come on. We have to be fair. We have to be loyal to what we believe, not to a person. We learned that lesson with Bush.
Did we learn the lesson? I hope so.

Melissa E. may still be waffling, but Charles Merrill and John Bisceglia will not pay taxes until Marriage Equality is law. Many more choose to be silent and simply drop out of the federal tax base.
Does anyone really think our I.R.S. will be able to find every dollar withheld? Right….
