Obama is a Republican.

This is where religion takes us. Religion kills critical thinking. Religion trains us to relabel that which we want to align ourselves with. Religion trains us to call things that aren’t as if they were.

Like calling Obama progressive when he isn’t.

Sigh.

I’m a little frustrated. Annoyed. Exasperated.

What’s most amusing is that he is openly conservative, openly anti-progressive, openly pro-war, openly anti-gay-rights, openly pro-”free-market”, openly pro-wall-street and openly uncaring of the middle and lower classes.

And yet he’s the messiah.

It’s good that we have such an excellent example of how far we’ve come in terms of white-black relations. But come on. No Latino, Asian or Polynesian would have gotten this far. No atheist, agnostic or humanist would have. Certainly no gay person would have.

We’re still racist, we’re still bigoted, we’re still not fixed.

I do get tired of people acting like it’s all rainbows and lollipops.
